1. Overview of Quick Drivers Installer
----------------------------------------------------------------
Quick Drivers Installer is a value-added solution to Fuji Xerox customers.
It facilitates the process of printer driver installation and
collection of printing environment information for trouble-shooting.

It is divided into two operating modes. In User Mode, it is a 
one-stop solution to install a printer driver on a local computer.

In Administrator Mode, it enables multiple printer driver installation
to multiple computer simultaneously. It also provides a mechanism for 
customer service helpdesk to collect system information for trouble-
shooting.

2. Operating Environment
----------------------------------------------------------------

2.1 Hardware
----------------------------------------------------------------
-	CPU
	- An x86 or x64 compatible CPU machine with Pentium III 
	  450MHz equivalent or higher

- 	Hard disk space
	- 200MB and above (100MB and above during operation)

- 	Memory
	- Minimum as well as recommended capacity is the same as 
	  the OS operation conditions

-	Network Insterface

3.3 Drivers supporting Option

All options are supported in PCL drivers. "Set as a 
default printer" and "Test Page Printing" are only supported features
in PS drivers.

4. Operations
----------------------------------------------------------------
The software comes with an executable file "Quick Drivers Installer.exe", a 
printer driver folder, a library folder.

4.1 Start Up
----------------------------------------------------------------
To start up the software, double click "Quick Drivers Installer.exe".
By default, Quick Drivers Installer runs in "User mode".

4.2 Local Printer Driver Installation [User Mode]
----------------------------------------------------------------
Prior to starting this Quick Drivers Installer tool ensure that you have the 
printer driver on your PC. You can download your printer drivers 
from the FujiXerox web site on: 

- http://www.fxap.com.sg/download/index.jsp	

To install a printer driver on a local computer

- Switch To User Mode

- Select A Printer
  	- Either
	  	Manually input a printer IP address
	- Or
	  	Click "Find Printer" to search for a printer

- Select A Printer Driver

- Set Up Options
	Set as Default Printer
	Test Page Printing
	Black & White
	2-UP
	Duplex
	Authentication

- Click "Driver Installation"


4.3 Remote Printer Driver Installation  [Administrator Mode]
----------------------------------------------------------------
To install printer drivers on multiple remote computers
  
- Switch To Administrator Mode

- Build Up The Printer Driver Installation List
	- Either
	Manually build up the installation list
 		- Select A Target Computer
 		- Select / Find A Printer
		- Select A Printer Driver
		- Add To Installation List
 
	- Or
	Import an installation list from a csv file
		- click "File" -> "Import List"   				
		- Select the csv file to be imported
		- Click "Open" to import

- Click "Driver Installation"

4.4 Printer / OS Information Collection [Administrator Mode]
----------------------------------------------------------------
To collect printer / computer hardware and software information

- Switch To Administrator Mode

- Click "Printer/OS Information" Tab

- Click "Select" to choose from
	Local Computer Information
		- Local computer information displayed
  	Printer Information
		- Printer information displayed
	All Information
		- Both information displayed

- Click "File" -> "Export List" to export the information


4.5 Printer Properties [Administrator Mode]

To pop up the printer properties, which are installed in Local computer

- Switch To Administrator Mode

- Click "Printer Properties" Tab

- Click driver name displaying on driver list window

5. Limitations
----------------------------------------------------------------

5.1	Notes on "Local Printer Driver Installation"
----------------------------------------------------------------

-	Quick Drivers Installer should be run with Administrator's right on
	the host computer.

-	On a Vista or later, if the follow message "An unidentified 
        program wants access to your computer" appears, click as 
	"allow" to continue.

-	Only printer drivers for the operating system on a target 
	computer are allowed to install.

-	Only Fuji Xerox printer products listed on the User Guide
	are supported.
		
-	The printer driver version information might not be shown 
	for some printer driver.

-	If a latest printer driver version is selected in Quick Drivers Installer 
	and the target PC already has an old version, Quick Drivers Installer 
	will not overwrite the latest on old version the target PC.

-	If you want to distribute the latest printer driver, 
	make sure if the target computers do not have any 
	old printer driver of the same product model. And then Remove 
	the drivers from the "Printers and Faxes" menu, File > 
	Server Properties > Drivers before distribution.

5.2	Notes on "Find A Printer"
----------------------------------------------------------------
-	If the Windows firewall is on, please make sure if the UDP
	161 and 162 ports are added as exceptions. These ports must
	be alive to find printers. If these ports is not added in 
	exceptions, please follows next steps,

	1. [Windows Firewall] – [General Tap] – [Don’t allow exceptions]
	   -> uncheck
	2. [Exceptions Tap] – [Add Port] – check UDP and input 
	   161 in port number box– [OK]
	3. [Exceptions Tap] – [Add Port] – check UDP and input 
	   162 in port number box– [OK]
	4. OK
	5. Click the “Finder Printers” again

-	Make sure that the VMWare network interface is disabled.

-	Only printers on the same network segment as the local
	computer are searched for.

-	If SNMP agent over UDP is not enabled on a printer, it 
	would not be listed.

-	The printer list comes out after 10 sec of searching the
	network.

-	In case of activating several network interfaces at the 
	same time, "Find Printer" may not find machines on the 
	network.

5.3	Notes on "Set Printer Driver Options"
----------------------------------------------------------------
-	Only for installing a printer driver on a local computer

-	Only PCL drivers support all the option settings, whereas 
	PS drivers support only two settings, ie.e Set As Default
	Printer & Test Page Printing

5.4	Notes on "Remote Printer Driver Installation"
----------------------------------------------------------------
-	Make sure if you have the administrative access right 
	to the remote computer. To do that, you need to know 
	username and password with administrator access right of 
	remote computer.

-	Not able to set printer driver options

-	In some cases, even a connect to remote computer is ok, 
	its printer driver installation might fail due to timeout 
	of the connection session. In this case, try login later.

-	Pre-configuration default settings of driver *.cfg file 
	is supported.

-	After the driver installation, users on the target computer 
	should perform the let Printer Information from Printers 
	to update printer options for their driver.


5.5	Notes on "Printer/OS Information Collection"
----------------------------------------------------------------
-	Only collect local computer information regarding OS info

-	In "Printer information", the "SMB" value might be incorrect 
	in some DocuPrint devices.

-	In "Printer information" of Administrator mode, the 
	Serial Number of some DocuPrint devices can't be retrieved.

-	In "OS information", in the case of Windows 2000, the system 
	manufacturer and model information can't be retrieved.

-	In "Printer information", the Hard disk information of 
	APC 6550/7550/5540 I might be incorrect imtermittently. 
	If any, try "Collect" again.

5.6	Notes on "Printer Properties"
----------------------------------------------------------------
-	Once the driver list on Printer Properties tab is displayed,
	it doesn't automatically refresh, either new driver is added 
	or driver is deleted. The list will not be drawn up again 
	automatically

6. Message & Status Information
----------------------------------------------------------------

6.1 User Mode
----------------------------------------------------------------
-	Ready to install :
	The installation process has not started. Some additional 
	information may be needed, such as the IP address of the 
	printer or printer drivers.

-	Installing :	
	The process in which the printer drivers are being installed
	on the Local PC or a Remote PC.

-	Complete :
	The installation process has been finished.

- 	Cancelled :
	Installation was cancelled due to user request. When prompted
	with a warning message such Non-WHQL driver, and if you click
	 “Stop installation.”

-	Cancelled, driver specified is not 32/64-bit driver :
	The installation is cancelled because the driver to be installed 
	is not match with OS architecture.
	Ex) In case using 64bit driver on 32bit-based OS.


6.2 Administrator Mode
----------------------------------------------------------------
-	Connect	:  
	The target computer is connected to the network	  properly.

-	Failed to connect :  
        The target computer is not connected to the network properly.
        Check network connection.

	It could also mean that the target computer have not been 
	assigned an IP address. Use the “PING” command to confirm. 
	If the target computer uses DHCP for IP addresses, login at 
	the target PC to obtain an IP address than log out.

-	……	:
	In the process of installing the driver to the target PC.

-	Done :	Completed.

- 	Cancelled :
	Installation was cancelled due to user request. When prompted
	with a warning message such Non-WHQL driver, and if you click
	 “Stop installation.”

-	Failed to login	:
	Make sure if The IP address you specified is computer using 
	the windows OS.
	and make sure if the user name and password is all right. 

-	Failed to find IP :
	Check if the computer is turned on or ip address is correct.

-	Cancelled, driver specified is not 32/64-bit driver :
	The installation is cancelled because the driver to be installed 
	is not match with OS architecture.
	Ex) In case using 64bit driver on 32bit-based OS.

-	Failed to create port :
	Creating the port to remote computer failed due to different OS 
	architecture or an uncertain reason.
